The image shows a small trabecula of a mode At more advanced stages, bone trabeculae are seen (highlighted in orange). This bone will develop into a cancellous bone.
Within the matrix of the bone are numerous osteocytes (highlighted in green), and osteoblasts and osteoprogenitor cells lining the external and internal surfaces of this small trabecula.
