PATTERNS OF ORGANIZATION OF LAMELLAE IN THE LAMELLAR BONE
Collagen fibers placed in parallel are the main component of each lamellae.
In lamellar bone, the lamellae are organized into two main spatial configurations:
1 – Flat or slightly curved lamellae.
2 – Cylindrical, tube-shaped lamellae forming concentric layers arranged around a central canal in sets of 3 to 15 lamellae placed one inside the other.
