CELLS OF THE ERYTHROCYTIC AND GRANULOCYTIC LINEAGES

Granulocytic lineage

Myelocyte
Large cell with a slightly indented nucleus and slightly basophilic cytoplasm with small granules.
Nucleus with loose and delicate chromatin, lightly stained – quite an immature cell. Observe two spherical lightly stained nucleoli, clearly visible inside the nucleus (not indicated by arrows).

Bone marrow smear. Staining: Leishman. Large magnification.
