BINUCLEATED CELLS
Several cell types contain more than one nucleus. Skeletal muscle cells, for example, may contain hundreds of nuclei, whereas hepatocytes often have two and sometimes three.
Before moving the cursor over the image or clicking on it, take a moment to examine the section carefully. Try to identify three binucleated cells, each containing two nuclei.
You have already noticed that cell boundaries are not always easy to see. However, in binucleated and multinucleated cells, the nuclei within the same cell are usually located relatively close to one another, which can help you identify these cells.
