TRANSIENT CELLS OF THE CONNECTIVE TISSUE – 6
NEUTROPHILS – 2
The figure shows several segmented neutrophils (highlighted in red). They measure 10-15 µm in diameter and therefore larger than red blood cells. Their nucleus is lobulated and the cytoplasm is lightly stained.
One band (young) neutrophil whose nucleus is shaped like the letter “C” is highlighted in purple.
Round and pear-shaped plasmocytes with out of the cell center nuclei are highlighted in green. Notice the less stained Golgi region in their cytoplasm indicated by the arrow as well as in other plasmocytes.
Lymphocytes highlighted in blue.
