CEREBELLUM – 4
The figure shows a small area of the cerebellar gray matter.
Parts of the granular layer and molecular layer are seen in the lower portion of the figure.
Observe between both layers the layer of Purkinje cells. They are large neurons, each emitting a thick and long dendrite that extends toward the molecular layer where their establish synapses with other neurons of the cerebellum.
Cell bodies – highlighted in green, nuclei in light blue, nucleolus in strong blue.
