CEREBELLUM – 4
The figure shows a small area of the cerebellar gray matter.
The granular layer is seen in the lower portion of the figure and the molecular layer in the upper portion.
Between both layers observe the layer of Purkinje cells.These cells have very large neurons, each emitting a thick dendrite. The dendrites of the Purkinje cells extend toward the molecular layer where thy branch and its terminal portions establish synapses with other neurons of the cerebellum.
