COLLAGEN FIBERS – 3
The images are of two sections ofconnective tissues, stained with trichrome dyes.
These stainings show very clearly the collagen fibers and help students to recognize connective tissue in histological sections.
In the upper figure – a section stained by the Masson trichrome technique, which shows the collagen fibers in green.
In the lower figure – section stained by the Mallory trichrome technique, which stains these fibers in blue and sometimes in yellow.
