SIMPLE COLUMNAR (OR PRYSMATIC) EPITHELIUM – 1
This type of lining epithelium is formed by a layer of tall, prismatic cells resting on a basal lamina. Its nuclei are elliptical. Note how the elongated nuclei follow the longest axis of the cells.
This is a very common type of epithelium in the body, constituting, for example, the inner lining of the stomach, intestines and several other organs.
