BLOOD CELLS

Erythrocytes or Red blood cells

These cells are anucleated. Their color in well stained blood smears smears should be light pink but sometimes they may look alile bit bluish or greyish.
Red blood cells have the shape of a biconcave disc. Their central region is therefore thinner which is why this portion of their cytoplasm is less stained. Their diameter under normal conditions is fairly constant, at about 7 micrometers.
