REFLECTING ON 3-DIMENSIONS – 5
Each sweat gland in the skin is shaped like a small hollow tube whose wall is made up of cells.

In the deepest part of the gland, called the secretory portion, the tubule is coiled.

When a histological section is obtained from a piece of skin, the coiled portions of their sweat glands appear to have been cut several times, although they are just one tube.
Watch in the photomicrograph on the right how many sections of only one tube can be obtained.
