SIMPLE CUBOIDAL EPITHELIUM – 2
The simple cuboidal epithelium shown in the image is part of a structure called the choroid plexus, which is located inside the cerebral ventricles.
This epithelium is responsible for producing and secreting cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) which surrounds and protects the central nervous system.
Notice that the epithelium consists of only one layer of cells. In this section, the cells appear approximately square, and their spherical nuclei are located near the center of the cells. Based on their shape, these cells are therefore classified as cuboidal.
