HEMATOPOIESIS

CELLS OF THE ERYTHROCYTIC AND GRANULOCYTIC LINEAGES
Erythrocytic Lineage -blue arrows. Basophilic Erythroblasts – small cells, dense chromatin nuclei, basophilic (bluish) cytoplasm.

Granulocytic Lineage – red arrow. Neutrophile metamyelocyte – large cell, elongated nucleus, lighter (bluish) colored cytoplasm, resembling that of a neutrophil.

Bone marrow smear. Staining: Leishman. Large magnification.
