Then, observing the nerve through a binocular microscope, its fibers were separated with a very fine needle.<\/p>\n<p>The myelin was demonstrated using special techniques, and the fibers were arranged on a histological slide.<br \/>\nTherefore, this is an image of whole nerve fibers seen through transparency, not a longitudinal section. Some fibers are highlighted in red when the cursor is hovered over them.<\/p>\n<p>At the locations indicated by arrows, a constriction of the fibers is noticeable. This is the space between two Schwann cells called the Ranvier node.
