Preparation of astrocytes usually have a yellow\/golden background, whereas those of oligodendrocytes have a bluish\/purplish background.<br \/>\nAs other glial cells, these cells perform very important functions for the functioning of nervous tissue.<br \/>\nVirtually all portions of neurons are covered by glial cells in the central nervous system or by their equivalents in the peripheral nervous system.<br \/>\nThe extensions of oligodendrocytes perform an important task of covering the axons of neurons in the central nervous system.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\" https:\/\/mol-en.icb.usp.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/9-13-A.jpg \" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Brain.
