They are seen as lines or thin, slightly bluish bands (highlighted in blue).<br \/>\nThe surface of several of these partitions has a thin pink band (highlighted in red). These bands are layers of bone matrix secreted by osteoblasts that settled over the cartilage matrix partitions.<br \/>\nIn some places, osteocytes (highlighted in green) can be seen inside the bone matrix.<br \/>\nOsteoblasts resting on the bone matrix are highlighted in yellow.
