This produces a familiar and easily recognizable view.<br \/>\nBut what happens when the tomato is cut in other planes? Do these sections also produce recognizable images?<br \/>\nImage 2 shows a tomato cut longitudinally, along its longest axis.<br \/>\nImage 3 shows an oblique section, made at an angle and close to the surface of the tomato.<br \/>\nTo understand the organization of many tissues and organs, it is necessary to examine sections made at different positions and in different planes.<\/p>\n<p>The same applies to cells, tissues, and organs.
