They are the pink stained cytoplasm of the liver cells and their bluish stained nuclei. <\/p>\n<p>Notice the many empty unstained spaces of very different shapes between the rows of liver cells. They are <strong>lumens<\/strong> of blood capillaries, in other words, the inner vascular spaces of blood capillaries.<\/p>\n<p>Below the figure: the hand holding a mouse indicates that this image presents a special effect after placing the mouse cursor over the image or clicking on the image.
