Observe another image of the mucous layer of the stomach body region.
1 – Smooth mucosal surface, with gastric pits or foveolae highlighted in yellow.
2 – Gastric glands, some highlighted in blue. These glands are tubular and extend from the epithelium lining the surface of the mucosa to the muscular sublayer of the mucosa (highlighted in green).
